Kazin’s Quest: a History

cscheppner Book 0 3

Hello everyone,

Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a fan of the fantasy genre since I was very young. The mystical worlds and creatures of that genre were always something to look forward to reading about. As the computer era arrived, there were many games available that showcased the worlds and characters that were, up until then, restricted to novels. Most games, particularly role playing games, held a particular appeal to me. I always kept busy with role playing games whenever I had time. Even role-playing board games such as Hero Quest, Warhammer, and the Dark World trilogy of games are still in my collection. I even designed a fantasy related board game that I’ve never marketed. It is a battle strategy game and contains figurines of many varieties of creatures. Each group of creatures has unique abilities that allow it to fight differently from the rest. Tactics are important in that game and is one of my specialties when it comes to games. Games like Axis & Allies, and Shogun are good tactical strategy board games. If you like Risk, you would love Axis & Allies.

Don’t get me wrong; I still read many fantasy novels, and enjoyed most of them.  Some of my favourite ones were the Dragonlance Chronicles (there were many other novels that diverged from that series and I had the opportunity to enjoy many of them), The Mistborn trilogy, which uses the ingestion of metals to enhance a particular magical ability, and of course, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series.

Over the years, I still followed the fantasy genre but work and life had a habit of interfering.  Nevertheless, I still enjoy fantasy and took on the task of writing my own series of novels. I wanted to create some interesting, believable characters who each have their own reasons for being there. Their interaction with one another accurately reflects their way of thinking and doing things. The world that was created is of course fictional, but is developed into realms where each of the races lives. The interaction of one race with another is realistic and makes the world more believable. I wanted to make the reader comfortable with the layout and the characters and build a story that will be remembered long after I am gone. Imagination is the key to enjoying a good fantasy novel, and I know there are many followers out there. I aim to appeal to that audience and hope that my series The Dragon Mage Trilogy will be among their favourite reads.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line. I am always interested to hear from you.
